Thirsty Thursday?

With snow on the ground here this morning, I can't help but crave warm summer temps and cool summer cocktails. My go to? Gin and Tonic with rosemary and cucumber. A close second, ANYTHING with St. Germain. Maybe mixed with champagne. Can you tell I'm ready for some adult bevs?

Instead of indulging quite yet, I've been making a mental list of what will be gracing our  bar  in the next few months.

Champagne over popsicles

Gin and Grapefruit

St. Germain with Champagne

Lemon and Rosemary Champagne

Southern Peach Cocktail

Strawberry Basil Sangria

And the finish it off... Bourbon Chocolate Milkshakes

Of course, all of these should be consumed out of the perfect stemless wine glass. I can't get enough of  these {ANTHROPOLGIE FROSTED PANES TUMBLERS}
I first saw them on Natalie's blog {here}

Wednesday Love

Happy Wednesday! When I woke up this morning it was 11 degrees outside!!! ELEVEN! I know I might still be running California blood, but that is just plain cold. We've got  some  snowflakes in the forecast for a few nights this week so we will see how it all pans out.

We are still waiting for Mr. Miller to make his debut but today we have our last appointment and final non-stress test. We will be walking out of the office with a PLAN. Induction isn't my dream scenario but my little love is snug and cozy. Shoot, if I knew it was 11 degrees outside I'd stay inside too!

Regardless, some things I'm loving while we wait.....

THE Nursery. Still need some additions once he's born but we did take a few cell phone pics the other night once we got the curtains hung. I need to get more complete pics soon once the final styling is done.

Great Recipes. These are 2 recipes that I've been craving lately and hopefully will be making again sometime soon. They are amazing.

Caramelized onion beer bread

Balsamic onion tart with goat cheese

This Painting. I need to figure out how to make this STAT. I'm loving the gold/gray combo. Would be PERFECT hanging on our very blank dining room wall.

Pinterest Love. Thanks to a few hours of lounging and browsing the last few days I've now got a large list of projects/outfits on my mind.

Thanks to my California girlfriends, we have a very nice bottle of bubbly waiting in the fridge. Just waiting to bring our baby home so we can break into it! Cross your fingers for the end of this week!

And the waiting begins...

Well, as this post goes to "print" as they say, I will be at the doctors for my 40+2 appointment. An ultrasound plus an hour NST, hooked up to monitors to make sure my little love is doing a-ok. Great progress has been made but he's just baking away. The child weighs 8+ lbs already so I think he's ready to make his debut.  My doctor doesn't like you to go too far past your due date so we will make a decision and see how it all goes. Baby should know that being late makes his momma anxious. I'm of the mind set that there is a greater plan and it will happen when/how it is supposed to happen.

Late or not, I guess I'll just enjoy my last few days of uninterrupted lounging and trash tv watching. Bliss I tell ya. Today I got restless, so Ann came over and helped me rearrange our master bedroom. I think J gets nervous when my mom comes over, somethings always bound to happen.

A few things going though my head/pinterest board....

Even though our babe isn't named Miller after the popular adult bev ( it's a family name on hub's side) I can't help but get the urge to include " It's Miller Time" on our birth announcements.

So Cheers! to good news at our appointment and a sweet boy any day now!

Misc. Monday

Good Morning lovelies! I can't believe its January 7th already....insane. I have to say though, now that all the Christmas is put away, I am loving the routine and normalcy that has returned to our house. (For at least another week or two). The holidays were wonderful but having everything cleaned up and put away makes me seriously happy.

This morning all I've got is some misc. pins and weekend happenings via lowercase letters. If your feeling random as well, head over and link up.

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

Baking. I would love to spend all day in the kitchen. Instead of getting up the energy these days to experiment, I have been pinning of ton of to-dos with certain occasions in mind. First up, Chocolate Bourbon Pound Cake. Sold yet? Looks amazing.

Organization. Now that our house is 90% organized/cleaned for baby, I'm loving this cleaning sched my sister pinned. I think with an infant it's unrealistic to think I'll be able to tackle full day cleaning projects. Daily maintenance is going to be my motto.

Confession. One of my legitimate worries ( albeit embarrassing) is going into labor without having a fresh manicure and pedicure. I'm trying to push it as long as I can so it will be newer longer. Yes, this may sound ridiculous but well done nails just make me feel better. Why can't a gal just want to ensure that she feels put together after labor?

Date Nights. Since this babe could come at any minute, we are trying to take advantage of the last "just the two of us" time. Of course we can grab babysitters in the future but it will all be different. J indulged all of my weekend dining requests. A surprise trip to Mama Zu's on Thursday, Stellas for dinner Friday, Wendy's after a weird burger craving, and Chipotle for a mexican kick. He's a real doll.

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Lovin' much!

We are only 1 ish day in but Im pretty excited about 2013. I thought I would start the day off right with some things that I'm loving and very thankful for.

Some much needed relaxation while ringing in the New Year.

I got to break in my new planner and schedule a few very important dates. So soon!

Over the long weekend we crossed a ton off my pre d-day list. Bags are even packed and hubs
has started mopping the floors. Makes this crazy lady happy! I finally get to break in this beauty!

I'm working on getting our home organization binder up to date and more efficient for our changing schedule. This gal rocks. Her printables were just what I was looking for.

Finally, I'm loving these sweet little man outfits. Just wait until Miller is old enough for sweaters, button ups and boat shoes!

Cheers!

I can't believe 2012 is on it's way out! It has been a big year in the Kennedy household.
Some of the highlights:
  •  rang in 2012 with some great friends in our California digs
  •  took my first trip to Vegas
  •  had lots and lots of visitors including parents, sisters, groomsmen etc
  •  rode bikes on the boardwalk and boated around the harbor
  •  had one too many happy hours/cocktails with girlfriends. Including one infamous, unintentional wine crawl.
  •  had great friends out for cinco de mayo, indulged in some amazing food and margaritas
  •  decided to start a family and quickly found out we were going to be parents :)
  •  weighed the pros and cons of moving back East to be closer to family
  • watched my SIL Kelly get married in a picture perfect Virginia wedding
  • J got offered a job with a new law firm, we made the decision to make the move
  • shipped a car and packed all of our stuff onto a truck and waved good bye to our beach town
  • after a great baby moon in Palm Springs, we took 6 fabulous days to drive cross country
  • Got settled in our new house and spent tons of time with family and friends that we had missed
  • Had a fantastic holiday season celebrating with loved ones!

I have a feeling 2013 will be even greater!!

Being 9 months pregnant, we chose to forgo formal plans and will be spending the night at home, sipping sparkling cider, enjoying a fire and getting ready for Miller's arrival. I can still hold my own with the best of them, heels and all, but sweatpants at midnight sounded better to me this year than a sequin dress.

However, if I was hitting the town, you can bet I would be rocking gold, sipping on lots and lots of champagne and wearing as many jewels as possible.

My goal for 2013? Just be happy.
Enjoy my precious family, love on my husband, take care of myself and say a few extra prayers.

Happy New Years everyone!

The final countdown!

Well, it's now or never! We scheduled our last weekly appointments and are just playing the waiting game. I'm officially full term so fingers crossed we will meet Miller in 3ish weeks! Luckily I'm still very mobile and comfortable so he can bake as long as he needs to.

We had the BEST Christmas with both families this holiday. It was amazing having both parents 10 minutes away and a home base where we could relax and regroup. Annnnnd today we aren't on a plane back to California. Lot's to be thankful for this season. We were spoiled with too many goodies and are now officially set in every department. There is literally nothing else we could want or need! Truly blessed I tell ya!  A few of my favorite gifts this year...

Neutral studded flats. Lots of wear to come.

New king comforter in a darker color. We retired the white option we had for now since a bambino will soon be taking over.

Our second car seat. It ranges from a 4lb infant to a 70 pound child. All we need to do is install in hubs car and we are both set to roll with baby!
( J's parents are building a house on the water in NC so many a road trip are in our future. Car DVD players will be a lifesaver I'm sure!)

Sweet M monogram necklace. I was lucky enough to get one in silver and gold!

Monogrammed Mom Agenda planner. After looking at a million options, I decided this was the one that would work best for our fam. It has designated spots for meals, kids info, schedules and reminders. This, in addition to our family binder, should keep us straight!

This just tips the ice burg on how fortunate we were this year. Lots of love, excitement and anticipation for all that is to come!

Unfortunately, right before the holiday we lost my grandmother. Luckily, she didn't suffer long and is finally re-united with my grandad (who we know was literally dancing when she arrived). They were an amazing example of love, dedication, humor and joy.  In addition to a wife, mother and grandmother she was a talented pilot who taught soldiers to fly during the war. Truly amazing.

I hope everyone had a great holiday and got to spend lots of quality time with family and friends!

Time flies

Where does the time go?

Between getting settled from the move, being 8.5 months pregnant and the holidays, things around here are rocking! It's so exciting and terrifying that once December hits I can say that our baby is due NEXT MONTH! I really do want to start documenting some parts of this time in our lives because I know soon enough it will seem like forever ago.

We have been slowly working on sweet Miller's nursery. It's neutral, with pops of natural texture and gold/metallic. I know he will just love it :).

A classic Federal mirror to go over the changing table. You can see the rug here too.
It's a natural hemp/white leather woven number. I love all the texture/color variations. A little taupe, grey, white...perfect!

A sheepskin throw to make standing over the crib super comfy. Jenny Lind crib in white with all white linens. Crib skirt isn't done, just tacked to see length etc.

Some sweet gifts from his favorite aunts.

Stroller ready to go. Car seat is installed, which makes it super weird driving around now.

Mini golf clubs from his Grandaddy ( my dad). I have 3 sisters and 2 nieces so he can not WAIT to
dive into boy things.

Who doesn't love a mock flannel onesie? I know I would love precious girl clothes too but dressing a boy is SO FUN!
