50 Misc Things on Monday

Hi lovelies! Happy Monday! Last week was a learning curve for me. I was trying to learn the way around my new job, how to be a working wife, get things done around the house and still feed my husband. We ate out way too much. So onto this week! Lots of great stuff happening around here. The personal highlight for me is my fav JL gals and I are getting together to watch "Troop Beverly Hills". Our last meeting was very troop esq so we decided to flash back to an all time classic this week. Wine and fun to be had!

To start the week off right I'm linking up with Carissa at lowercase letters. Head on over and check out her fantastic blog.

T2T

Today I'm linking up with Taylor or yet another Top 2 Tuesday! Head on over and check her out..

Top 2 things I've learned from parents/grandparents

{1}

Never stop showing the love
Over 60 years and the best example. He drove her crazy simply because he loved her soooo dang much.  He is and was always complimenting her, telling us how lucky he is, how pretty she is etc etc.. He calls her slimness. It makes me smile. The way he looks at her and just smiles that smile that is sooooo my granddad. She always took the best care of him, us, everyone. Even though he can't talk anymore and is bedridden my grandma who is blind mind you, wheels herself over to his room every single day and sits with him. Day after day, tirelessly. I'm positive in his head he's singing her " pal of my cradle days" and still driving her crazy. Love crazy that is. I can hear her shouting/laughing from the kitchen " Daaaaave, stop singing that turrrible song".
Now thats love.

leaving their wedding, how I always picture them

{2}

In a week, my parents are headed off to Italy to celebrate 30 years of marriage. Thats something to celebrate. Out of the countless things I've learned from them, I think the most pertinent, especially now, it  what marriage is. I've never heard my dad say a bad or negative thing about my mom. Vice versa. I never questioned whether they loved each other. Was it always easy with sunshine and floating hearts ? nope. It was beautiful, hard work, dedication, support, love, the occasional debate, long road trips, kids dance recitals, volleyball games and cheering competitions, driving cotillion carpools,  glasses of wine with dinner and after 30 years, still wanting to vacation with your best friend.

Friday 5 from France?

Hi lovelies! TGIF!

 I am so ready for the weekend! I've been slacking this week on blogging because.....

I got the job!

 Last week I mentioned I had an interview with a Newport Company that operates out of Paris. I landed the posish and am heading up the marketing and sales. I'm not going to give too many deets on the blog for privacy reasons but I've had 2 days and am LOVING it. I've got the whole new job, so much info, head spinning feeling but it's worth it. Plus, some trips to Paris? yes please. I get to operate with and communicate about my fav city all day long. So much FUN! I'm sure in about a week I will be singing a different tune :)

Also, my dear friend Alex from {Ruffles,Ribbons and Bows, Oh My!} has started a Friday 5 linkup.....head on over to check it out and link up!

From Alex herself...

" Anyways, there aren't many (if any) rules to the Friday Five--just five things you are loving, going to do this weekend, are addicted to, etc. I usually have my favorite song at the time, something I am going to do, essentials for the weekend (which means diet coke makes the Friday Five A LOT), etc."

{1}

 Chanel lipstick #10 and # 21. Can't live without them. I may be old school rocking lipstick but I always have to have something on. I'm a dark shade gal.
Rivoli for when I want a pinker brighter shade. This was my wedding lipstick

Attitude when I want a dark red.

{2}

Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

Lord have mercy these are to DIE for.

{3}

Tucked in shirts with jeans. I've been wearing it and loving it.

{4}

The fountain DC's at Pavillion's I order and drink while grocery shopping. No explanation necessary.

{5}

Much needed manicure over the weekend. Color TBD. Some contenders...

St. Petersburgundy, a fav I wore to our engagement party

You Don't know Jacque, the color I wore on my wedding day. Toes only obviously. My momma would have killed me.

William-Tell Them about It. A perfect dark maroon.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and start to their much deserved weekend!!!

WILW

What are you loving this Wednesday?? Link up with Jamie and let us know!

I'm LOVING this balsamic onion and goat cheese tart I made for Valentines Day. It's from the most amazing website, Love and Olive Oil. It was divine. Get the recipe {here}

I'm LOVING my nieces. When I was writing a check this morning to send to them for a school fundraiser I realized something. I better be careful because I'm pretty sure I would give them anything if their sweet voices asked for it. Love them more than words.

I'm LOVING how the coldest of "winter" days here feel like a warm spring day in VA.

I'm LOVING that my godparents and parents are getting ready to hit to road to Italy/Rome. They are going to have such a blast.

Makes me wish I was back in Italia...

I'm LOVING this gal and her impeding nuptials

I'm LOVING this hairspray. It's changed my life. It's the little things right?

I'm LOVING this song..

Lastly, I'm always LOVING my hubs. He's simply the best.

Happy Wednesday Yall!

Top 2 Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday! I hope all you lovelies had the BEST Valentines Day! Mine was filled with lots of good wine, food, a fire ( yes it was chilly enough) , sweet cards from both sets of parents, and a love letter from hubs. Best part, we are going away this weekend!! I'm so excited but J won't tell me anything. I love a good surprise :)

I'm linking up with Taylor this week for another lovely Top 2 Tuesday.

Top 2 Grammy Looks

Easy. Peasy.

{1} Selena Gomez hands down.
Totally gorg in every way

{2} Lea Michele.
 Call me crazy because I'm not a big fan of this gal. But I'm kind of digging this black number.

Seeing all these formal gowns is already making me start browsing for a dress to wear to the JL Christmas Cocktail in Nov. Yes, it's a long way away but yes, I love a good black tie event. My leading favorite...

I know its's long sleeve but I'm digging the retro vibe. Plus, who loves their pale arms in November? Not this gal.  It's Halston Heritage which is by far one of my all time favorites. They made my " barbie" dress I wore for my bach party.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday! I have a feeling I'll have a lot to love for WILW tomorrow :)
